Better Late Than Never! March Snowstorms Bring Peak Skiing 🎿❄️

Winter showed up late, but it’s making up for lost time with deep snow and epic conditions.

🏔️ Better Late Than Never: March Snowstorms Revive SoCal Ski Season ❄️

Winter showed up fashionably late, but it came ready to party! Just when we thought this ski season might fizzle out, March storms have delivered big, transforming our mountains into a powder-filled paradise.

Mammoth, Big Bear, Snow Summit, Snow Valley, Mountain High, and Mount Baldy have all been buried in fresh snow, and the best part? More is on the way!

🌨️ Snow Report: March Delivers the Goods

📆 March 11-12 Storm Recap

✔️ Mammoth Mountain: Expecting 2+ feet of fresh powder from this storm.
✔️ Big Bear & Mount Baldy: Looking at over a foot of new snow at higher elevations.
✔️ Mountain High & Snow Valley: Picking up solid accumulations for prime conditions.

📅 Upcoming Forecast

✔️ More snow is on the way this week! Storms could drop several more inches leading into the weekend.
✔️ Cold temps = perfect conditions. No slushy spring skiing yet—this is the real deal!

🎿 Wax or No Wax? That Is the Question

Fresh snow is amazing, but is your gear ready? A good wax job can make or break your ski day.

Your Waxing Options

✅ DIY Waxing – Got the gear? Do it yourself for a custom wax job that matches the snow conditions.
✅ Free REI Machine Wax (Members Only) – If you're an REI member, you can get a free machine wax at participating locations.
✅ Pro Hand Wax – Want a perfect glide? A professional hand wax ensures a smooth, even coat.
✅ On-Mountain Lodge Waxing – If you forget to wax, most resorts offer on-the-spot waxing for a quick fix.

Why Bother Waxing?

  • 🏂 Faster Runs: Less friction = more speed.

  • 🎿 Better Control: Easier turns, smoother stops.

  • 🛠️ Longer Gear Life: Prevents drying out & damage.

💡 Pro Tip: Skiing multiple days? A mid-trip wax will keep your ride fresh!

Heading home from Mammoth? Instead of rushing past Bishop, take a well-earned break at Bishop Country Club.

This isn't just a golf course—it’s a hidden gem for road-trippers. After a few days of charging hard in deep powder, this spot is the perfect place to unwind, refuel, and soak in the Sierra views.

🏡 What to Expect:

  • A relaxed, mountain-town vibe – no stuffy country club energy here!

  • Amazing food – hearty, satisfying, and made fresh.

  • Unreal views – enjoy your meal with a backdrop of snow-covered peaks.

🍔 What to Order:

🥓 Classic Breakfast – If you’re an early bird, start your day right.
🍔 Signature Burger – Juicy, perfectly grilled, and road-trip approved.
🥗 Fresh Salads – Crisp, refreshing, and loaded with flavor.

📖 A Quick Story From the Road…

One afternoon, after two unreal powder days at Mammoth, I was starving but not ready for fast food. I remembered a buddy raving about Bishop Country Club, so I pulled in, hoping for a decent meal before the long drive home.

I walked in, grabbed a seat by the window, and immediately felt at peace. The snow-capped Sierra stretched across the horizon, the sun was shining, and for the first time all weekend, I wasn’t in a rush.

I ordered the signature burger, and when it arrived—perfectly charred, stacked with all the fixings, and paired with crispy fries—I knew I had made the right call. It was the perfect cap to an epic ski trip.

🚗 Final Tip: If you're heading home from Mammoth, Bishop Country Club is a must-stop. Trust me, it's worth taking the extra time. Just be warned—you might not want to leave. 😉

🕒 Hours: Open 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM daily (Check menu & details)
