Mammoth’s Second Season + Ikon Deadline = Your Spring Ski Checklist

Spring skiing is on fire. Don’t miss your chance to save before April 18.

🎿 Buy the Pass, Take the Ride – Even If It Hurts Right Now 🥲

Let’s talk about the awkward timing of it all.

I was just swapping ski stories over chips and guac with a buddy who—like many of us—is fresh off a spring break trip, a little sunburned, and a lot broke. Right on cue, the Ikon Pass deadline popped into our convo like an unexpected lift ticket line at Chair 2.

“$1,329? After spring break?!”

Yeah, I felt that too. But here’s the kicker—we did the math. And not buying the pass? Ends up way more expensive.

🎟️ Why the Ikon Pass Still Pays Off

Right now, the full Ikon Pass is $1,329. The Ikon Base Pass sits at $909.

Here’s why locking it in now saves your bacon later:

  • Prices go up on April 18—as in, cha-ching 💸

  • Ski just 4 days at Mammoth and it’s already paid for

  • You get up to 12 Friends & Family tickets at 25% off—perfect for those buddies who always “might come this time”

  • Tons of destinations (hello, Tahoe, Utah, and Big Bear) with zero extra lift ticket stress

So yes, it’s a chunk of change now. But that’s future-you, full of powder joy, thanking past-you for pulling the trigger early.

🌞 Mammoth’s “Second Season” Is the Real Secret

You know what’s better than skiing in December? Skiing in May... in a T-shirt... while sipping a cold one in the parking lot with a full boot tan on display 😎

Spring skiing is like bonus footage at the end of your favorite movie. And Mammoth does it best.

Here’s what’s coming:

🦆 Pond Skim – April 21
Costumes. Cold water. Questionable decisions. Honestly, a top 5 event of the year.

🎶 Village Après Music Series – weekends all spring
Because nothing says “I just crushed spring corn” like dancing in ski boots to a live band.

🎿 Lifts running until at least May 27 (Memorial Day!)
And maybe longer if the snow holds. Mammoth = spring skiing royalty 👑

Pack your SPF 50 and your loudest retro onesie. Trust me—it’s a vibe.

Mule Days in Bishop – Yep, I’m Finally Doing It 🫎

Every year someone asks me, “Sasha, have you been to Mule Days?”

And every year I say, “Nope... but I want to.”

Well guess what? This Memorial Day weekend, I’m finally going.

📍 Bishop Mule Days – May 20–25
Just a short cruise down from Mammoth, and you’ve got yourself the wildest mix of rodeo action, parades, and mule-powered talent shows you’ve ever seen.

Expect:

  • Mule jumping (YES, they jump.)

  • Cowboy poetry

  • Parades that start before your coffee kicks in

  • Good food, great people, and a whole lotta yeehaw

It’s the most Eastern Sierra thing you can do without snow under your feet. Pair it with a Mammoth ski day? Now that’s a weekend.

🧠 Big Takeaway?

Right now might not feel like the perfect time to spend big. But skiing smart means planning ahead—even when your credit card is still smoking from last week’s vacation.

Secure that Ikon Pass, milk Mammoth’s Second Season, and cap it all off with a mule jump. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself come winter.

💬 Repeat After Me:

"Buy the pass, take the ride." 🎟️⛷️

It might sting now, but it’ll save your season (and your wallet) later.

🔥 Liked this? Here’s what to do:

  • 💬 Drop a 🐴 in the comments if you’re going to Mule Days too!

  • ⭐️ Save this for your weekend planning

  • 🚀 Share with your ski crew so no one misses the deadline
