🎿 ONE MORE WEEKEND! Mammoth Closes June 7

One Last Ski Weekend Before Summer Takes Over

Hey Ski Fam,

🏔️ Winter Isn't Leaving Quietly

A few months ago we were celebrating opening day.

Now Mammoth is heading into its final weekend of the season.

June 7 is the last day lifts will spin.

Every year I tell myself I'm ready for ski season to end.

Every year, closing weekend proves me wrong.

Just when I start thinking about hiking trails, mountain bike rides, camping trips, and summer adventures, I find myself looking for one more excuse to load the car and head for the Sierra.

Because no matter how many days I skied this season, one more always sounds about right.

❤️ Why Closing Weekend Feels Different

I've skied a lot of closing weekends over the years.

They never feel like a normal ski day.

Nobody is chasing powder. Nobody is checking snowfall totals every hour. Nobody is trying to squeeze in maximum vertical.

Instead, people slow down.

They soak it in.

The chairlift rides become longer conversations. The deck lunches stretch a little later. The views seem a little bigger.

Everyone on the mountain knows they're sharing something special.

It's less about skiing and more about celebrating another winter spent doing what we love.

Some of my favorite ski memories weren't made during powder storms.

They were made on sunny closing weekends surrounded by friends, strangers, and fellow ski addicts who simply weren't ready to say goodbye.

The mountain feels more like a reunion than a ski resort.

And that's what makes it special.

🌲 The Good News

When the lifts finally stop spinning, mountain life doesn't stop.

It simply changes seasons.

Soon we'll be trading skis for:

🥾 Hiking trails

🚵 Mountain bike rides

🏕️ Camping trips

🎣 Fishing adventures

🌼 Wildflower walks

The same mountains we love in winter become our summer playground.

And before you know it, we'll all be checking long-range forecasts, shopping pass sales, and dreaming about next season's first storm.

💪 Summer Is Where Next Season Starts

The best skiers don't disappear for six months.

They stay active.

They hike.

They bike.

They train.

They build the strength and endurance that make next winter even better.

I've always believed great ski seasons are built long before the first snowflake falls.

That's exactly what I'll be doing this summer.

Well... right after one more weekend at Mammoth. 😄

🏔️ Final Takeaway

Most people think ski season ends when the snow melts.

I don't.

I think it simply changes shape.

The mountains are still there.

The adventure is still there.

And this weekend is one last chance to celebrate a season we'll be talking about for years.

If you've been thinking about making one more trip, this is your sign.

🏔️ Mountain Proverb

When the mountain offers one more run, take it.

Find your flow. Find your people. The mountains will handle the rest. 💙
