🎿 Ski Like a Pro by December—But Only If You Do This Now

This one tip will separate the shredders from the strugglers.

If you wait for snow to start skiing, you’ve already lost.

Hey ski fam—Sasha here 👋

Yep. I said it.

Because skiing like a pro? It doesn’t start on opening day.
It starts now—before fall has even officially begun.

Most skiers think skiing is just something you “do” once the lifts spin. But if you want to ski well—like, "turn heads on Chair 5" well—you’ve got to train before the flakes fly.

The Real Trick to Looking Pro on Day One?

👉 It’s not new skis.
👉 It’s not flashy gear.
👉 It’s not some fancy $500 lesson.

It’s what you do in the 11 days before fall even hits.

Let Me Paint the Scene: 🎨❄️

It’s September. LA just dropped below 70°, and suddenly it’s Pumpkin Spice Latte chaos in the streets.
People are digging out cardigans like they’re heading to Aspen tomorrow.

At my house?
I’m elbow-deep in ski gear, throwing wax on my bases like it’s a Thanksgiving turkey.
My little sidekick munchkin is stomping around the living room in last year’s boots, humming the Frozen soundtrack and pretending our staircase is a chairlift.

Because for us? Fall is ski season warm-up.

Want to Ski Strong by December? Here’s the Plan. 👇

1. Fix Your Legs Now, Thank Yourself Later 🏋️‍♀️

You need legs that last, not legs that cry after 2 runs.
Do this every day (yes, every day):

  • 10 squats

  • 10 lunges (each leg)

  • 30 seconds of wall sit

Takes 5 minutes. Feels like a million bucks in the powder.

2. Get That Gear Situation Handled đŸŽż

You don’t want to be the one discovering a broken buckle or mystery mold the night before your trip.

  • Try on your boots (yes, right now)

  • Unzip your jacket. Does it still smell like last April?

  • Are your skis waxed? If not—get to it, friend.

3. Reboot the Ski Brain 🧠🌀

You want to ski like a pro? Think like one.

  • Visualize clean, quiet turns.

  • Watch a Candide Thovex edit (seriously… go now).

  • Practice pole plants in your hallway. Don’t laugh—I do this every September.

4. Book the First Trip Now đŸ“†đŸ”️

Waiting = flaking.
Lock in your first ski day today and tell someone about it.
Text your crew. Buy the pass. Put it in your calendar.

Your brain loves commitments. So do your skis.

Big Takeaway: Pros Don’t Wing It. They Warm Up Early. 💡

I’ve coached everyone from weekend warriors to elite racers.
And the difference between “okay” skiers and great ones?
Prep.
Not more days on snow—more smart days getting ready.

Ski like a pro in December… and you’ll be laughing your way down black diamonds while everyone else is on day two of sore quads and pizza turns.
