Snow in Summer? That’s Just Mammoth Being Mammoth

Corn turns, gondola sunsets, and cold beers incoming.

🎿 Mammoth’s Still Open? Heck Yes It Is.

❄️ Memorial Day’s Done. But My Skis Aren’t.

SoCal, listen up.

While your buddies are dusting off paddleboards, Mammoth is still spinning chairs. No closing date. No final laps. Just spring corn and early-bird lines from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, with Main Lodge rocking from 7:00 to 1:00.

If you thought ski season was over—surprise, babe. It’s not.

🧠 Wait… How Long Can Mammoth Stay Open?

Let’s nerd out for a sec. Because Mammoth is no stranger to defying the calendar.

  • 🏅 Longest Season Ever: 310 days, baby. The lifts kept turning all the way to August 13, 1995. That’s not a season—that’s a lifestyle.

  • 📉 Shortest Season: Yep, even Mammoth has had a bad year. The 1986–87 season opened December 11 and shut down May 10. That’s just 150 days. A blink in Mammoth time.

  • 📆 Average Season: Most years, you’ll get solid turns from early November to late June. Around 225 days of snow stoke.

  • 🏆 Lowest Snowfall: Wanna talk struggle? The 1976–77 season dropped just 94 inches. But even then, Mammoth stayed open into late May. Hardcore.

Moral of the story? This mountain doesn’t quit. It adapts.

🍻 Just Because It’s Summer Doesn’t Mean It’s Boring

When the snow fades, Mammoth flips the switch—turns from shred mode to party mode. And trust me, it’s still a blast.

🏔️ Big Lesson

Ski seasons don’t have to end when the calendar says so.

And in Mammoth, they don’t.

This mountain teaches you something deeper: seasons shift, but the adventure never really stops. It just changes gear. Ski boots to bike shoes. Goggles to sunglasses. But the vibe? Same stoke.

🧤 Repeatable Proverb

“Mammoth doesn’t close. It just changes outfits.”
