🔥 The 4th Is Over—Let the Ski Stoke Begin!
How to prep, dream, and get ready to shred.

🎿 COUNTDOWN TO STOKE: The 4th of July Is Over... and My Ski Brain Just Switched On
Call me obsessed, but the fireworks mark the countdown, not the end...
💥 Let’s get something straight:
While most folks are reapplying aloe and hunting for lost flip-flops, I’m already thinking boots, base layers, and bacon breakfast burritos at 8,000 feet. 😎
For me?
The moment the last firework fades on the 4th of July... it’s on.
We’re four months from ski season go-time—and my heart knows it. ⛷️
🎧 My Ski Season Mind Game Begins Every Summer
Here’s how it started:
Back in my Tahoe days, summer meant icy lake plunges and BBQs with more mustard than meat. But like clockwork, each year after the 4th of July, I’d sneak into the garage while everyone else was still asleep.
And there they were.
My ski boots.
Dusty. Cold. Waiting.
I’d just sit there for a sec, fingers tracing the buckles. Like some sacred reunion between two old friends. It wasn’t about skiing yet—it was about remembering what it feels like to fly.
⏰ SoCal Ski Season is 4 Months Away. What Do You Do Now?
Here’s the magic: you don’t have to wait for snow to get ready.
If you’re like me—and I think you are—here’s how we spend these next 120 days without losing our minds or our ski legs:
❄️ 5 Ways to Get Ready NOW for the SoCal Ski Season 🏔️
1. Boot Camp Your Legs (In Flip-Flops)
You don’t need fancy gear or a gym:
Lunges while brushing your teeth 🪥
Squats every time you hit a red light 🚦
Calf raises while waiting for your coffee ☕
A little every day = lift line endurance come December.
2. Gear Closet Reality Check
Open that dusty ski bag and get real:
Are your goggles even in there?
Gloves still waterproof?
One ski pole missing? Yeah, it happens.
Better to fix it now than panic in a snowy parking lot with frozen fingers and no poles. (Been there.)
3. Lock in Those Early Season Dates
Save these in your phone. I already did. 📆
Mammoth Kids Ski Free Week: Dec 7–13
Big Bear Opening Day: Dec 13
June Mountain Opening Day: Dec 14
Night of Lights in Mammoth: Dec 14 (fireworks + snow = magic)

Message your crew and get the trip planning going
This is the time to romance the return.
🎿 Big Lesson: The Best Skiers Start Long Before the First Snowflake
Season prep isn’t about going hardcore.
It’s about staying connected.
To your body.
To your gear.
To the stoke.
Do a little now, and you’ll be that skier in December who’s not sore, not surprised, and not holding up the lift line. 😉
✨ Repeat After Me:
“Fireworks mark the countdown, not the end.”
