What Happens After the Snow Melts? You Decide... šŸŒž

Ski tips or mountain stories? Letā€™s map out the next adventure together.

šŸŽæ Spring Break Bliss at Mammoth: Blue Runs, Cold Brews & New Roads šŸŗ

Skiing solo never felt so full šŸ’™

Spring break hit different this year. No tight schedule. No race to the lift line. Just crisp air, soft snow, and that sweet high-altitude silence that makes you feel like time hit pause.

And guess what?

I had one perfect run where it was just me, my skis, and a mountain all to myself. Iā€™m talking about Christmas Tree over at Eagle Lodge.

šŸŽ„The Gift of Being Alone on the Snow

Now donā€™t get me wrongā€”I love a good family shred sesh and ski buddies who hoot and holler.

But something magical happened on that solo ride up Eagle Express.

When I dropped into Christmas Tree, the run was empty. No chatter. No chaos. Just me and the sound of skis slicing into spring snow.

It was like the mountain whispered, ā€œThis oneā€™s for you.ā€

The run itself? Gentle, wide, and full of long carving turns. Just enough pitch to keep your heart pumping, but mellow enough to let your thoughts wander.

If you havenā€™t taken a solo lap in a whileā€”do it. Youā€™ll be amazed how grounded and alive it makes you feel.

šŸ»ROAD TRIP GOLD: Indian Wells Brewing Company

Letā€™s talk aprĆØsā€”but make it desert edition.

On the drive back down 395, I pulled into a spot Iā€™d passed a hundred times but never stopped: Indian Wells Brewing Company in Inyokern.

Oh. My. Goggle straps. This place is a hidden gem.

Hereā€™s what makes it awesome:

  • šŸ’ Craft sodas that taste like childhood in a bottle

  • šŸŗ Beers brewed with desert grit and high-elevation soul

  • šŸŒµ A quirky, cozy vibe with picnic tables and a desert breeze

Perfect for grabbing a cold one for the road (non-alcoholic for the driver of course!) or filling a cooler with goodies before hitting Red Rock Canyon.

Next time you're coming home from Mammothā€”donā€™t miss it. Itā€™s right off the highway, and your taste buds will thank you.

šŸ¤”So... What Comes After the Snow Melts?

Here's where I need your help, friends.

  • šŸŒŠ Whitewater rafting trips on the Kern

  • šŸ„¾ Summer hikes and road trip stops that fuel your adventure soul

Iā€™ve got stories, tips, and wild ideas for bothā€”but YOU get to steer this sled.

šŸ”ļøBig Lesson from Spring Break?

You donā€™t need fresh pow or fancy plans to have a killer ski trip.

Sometimes all it takes is:

  • One bluebird day

  • One solo run

  • One cold soda in the desert

Simple. Pure. Perfect.
